National Women's Party Calling you to Picket the White House.

The National Women’s Party in 1917 started to picket outside of the White House. Their signs directed at President Woodrow Wilson asked how long before they could vote. The NWP became the first ever group  to protest outside the White House. They stood day after day from January 1917 to June 1918. NWP delegations from almost every state in the nation took a turn at the picket line, forming groups of about 12–15 protesters each day. The women who picketed were called the Silent Sentinels. They used their silence as a new form of protest.
